Creator of The Korean Vegan, New York Times bestselling author and content creator
With over 5 million fans across social media platforms, New York Times best-selling author Joanne Molinaro, a.k.a The Korean Vegan, has appeared on The Food Network, The Today Show, and PBS. She’s been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and CNN; her debut cookbook was named one of “The Best Cookbooks of 2021” by The New York Times and The New Yorker. Molinaro is a Korean American from Chicago. Her parents were born in what is now known as North Korea. Molinaro started her blog, The Korean Vegan, in 2016, after adopting a plant-based diet. In July 2020, she started her TikTok (@thekoreanvegan), to cope with isolation caused by the pandemic. She posted content on politics and life as a lawyer during quarantine. After a single post making Korean braised potatoes went viral, Molinaro shifted to 60 second recipe videos, telling stories about her family.
