In his current role as founder, CEO and editor-in-chief at JoySauce, Sposato oversees all business operations for the groundbreaking media platform that centers emerging Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) talent. JoySauce is set to launch in late April 2022.

Sposato also currently serves as the Chairman and co-founder of GeekWire, one of the tech sector’s leading news sites, and as Chairman and Founder of PicMonkey, an online photo editing and design service.

Prior to his current roles, Sposato founded Picnik, the first profitable online photo editor, which reaches over 60MM visitors a month; and Phatbits, which went on to become the highly successful “Google Gadgets.” He has the distinct honor of being the first person to sell two companies to Google.

In 2016, Sposato made waves when he announced he would be the first technology investor to only invest in female-founded companies. True to his promise, he has since invested in many startups founded by women, including Glamhive, GiftStarter, Runway2Street, Poppy, Scout, Vivify, and others. He is also a key investor and “Distinguished Entrepreneur in Residence” at the groundbreaking first-of-its-kind women’s co-working space, The Riveter.

Sposato got his start in the early 90s in Microsoft’s consumer division, personally delivering the next level of thought on key Microsoft properties to chairman Bill Gates and the company’s leadership, as well as being a key player in the formation of Xbox, the Xbox games business and various MSN applications. As a philanthropist, Sposato received the 2016 Civic Innovation Award from Seattle’s Mayor for founding WeCount.org, the first non-profit to apply consumer internet and smart phone technologies to connect people without housing with basic necessities. He also became an honoree of various women-led organizations such as American Women In Science, Vital Voices, and received the University of Washington’s “Man of Integrity” award.

Among other accomplishments, Sposato is the national bestselling author of the 2017 book “Better Together: 8 Ways Working with Women Leads to Extraordinary Products and Profits,” which made the Wall Street Journal’s top ten list.
