Nisha Ramachandran
Nisha Ramachandran serves as the Executive Director of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), chaired by Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27).
Nisha joins CAPAC with nearly a decade of experience working within the national Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. She most recently managed her own consulting business, specializing in community engagement, government relations, and strategic advocacy for AAPI organizations. Prior to that, she served as the Policy Director for the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA), where she shaped the coalition’s policy platform while balancing the priorities of 30+ national AANHPI organizations and oversight of NCAPA’s policy committees. Nisha has also previously served as an APAICS Fellow in the office of Congressman Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-07), where she handled US-India affairs, AAPI & South Asian American community issues, civil rights, global health, housing, science & technology, and veterans’ affairs.
Nisha also previously co-founded and served as Board Chair of Desis for Progress, a volunteer-led organization focused on uplifting the people, policies, and ideas that move the South Asian community forward. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a Master’s in Public Policy from George Washington University. Her previous work experience also includes policy and advocacy work in international development and global health.
