Dr. Kee B. Park is a neurosurgeon, global health expert, and Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change within Harvard Medical School’s Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. A board-certified neurosurgeon, Dr. Park has dedicated his career to advancing equitable access to surgical and anesthesia care worldwide, working at the intersection of clinical medicine, policy, and global development.

He has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization and its Expert Advisory Panel on Surgical Care and Anesthesia. His fieldwork spans across low- and middle-income countries, including Ethiopia and Cambodia, where he trained local surgeons and strengthened surgical systems.

Since 2007, Dr. Park has made more than two dozen visits to North Korea, leading health diplomacy initiatives that bridge humanitarian engagement and research on how sanctions and geopolitics affect population health. He serves on the board of the National Committee on North Korea.

Dr. Park earned his M.D. from Rutgers University, completed neurosurgical residency at Temple University Hospital, and received an M.P.H. from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
