Eun Yang is an Emmy Award–winning broadcast journalist and a highly regarded evening news anchor in Washington, D.C. Born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in the Maryland suburbs, she embodies the Korean-American immigrant story of hard work, perseverance and civic dedication. A graduate of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, Yang began her career at WUSA‑TV as a production assistant and reporter-trainee. She later became one of the first on-air journalists at the National Geographic Channel, traveling nationwide to file stories.
Since joining NBC4 Washington in 2002, Yang has anchored nearly every major newscast and currently leads the station’s 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. evening broadcasts, including coverage of presidential inaugurations, the Olympics, and key social-justice issues. Over her two decades at NBC4, she has earned multiple regional Emmy Awards and a Murrow Award for her journalism and community-focused reporting.
Beyond the studio, Yang is deeply committed to educational and cultural initiatives. She supports scholarships for Asian American students, mentors emerging journalists, and consistently amplifies underrepresented voices—especially within the Korean American community.
